Prayer Covering

October 17, 2009

Please keep us in your prayers this week. We will be part of a convention team that will be in services from Thursday – Sunday. This team will include two international visitors who will be the featured speakers. Last year at this convention we had the privilege to see 150 receive the Holy Ghost. The two years before that we had over 200 per year get the Holy Ghost at this convention. We are trusting God once again for a mighty move of the Spirit and are trusting God for many miracles and many souls filled with the Spirit. Please join with us in praying to that end.

Another Meeting

August 22, 2009

Last night was a hard night in some ways. We had another service, but this one was in memory of the many Christians who had been murdered or made homeless by recent violence in a near-by village. We had a good meeting and the people gave a good offering and prayed much for those in need. Afterwards I had to start dealing with my first real problem as vice-principal of the Bible College. Then I got home and received notice that Sis Willoughby had passed away. In the matter of the persecuted Christians I told the church we could be a strength to those in need and that they could find comfort in our faith. The same is true for the Willoughby’s and the church in Singapore. Our prayers can offer a strength and comfort at this time of need so let’s lift them up together.

On The Road Again

August 4, 2009

Well, Amanda, Zander and I are in Nova Scotia. We are on our way to the airport tonight and head off for another term on the field. We are excited to get going. My mom is coming with us for a few months to help with the baby. Pray for us as we travel and we will update everyone when we arrive on the field.

Day One

April 14, 2009

We have finished the first day of GC 2009 with great success. There was a spirit of unity in the business meeting and everything went forward without any issues. We are taking this as a sign of God’s blessing upon this conference. Continue to pray with us as there continue to be hurdles to cross, but we are believing God for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost on Friday night.

General Conference

April 13, 2009

Starting today, we are having our annual General Conference. Today and tomorrow are board meetings with tomorrow night being our official opening and Bible College graduation ceremony. Then, Wednesday through Friday will be day sessions with Bro Raymond Woodward and evening crusade services with Bro John Arcovio. We are looking for a prayer covering for these sessions and the Shalms have asked for us to focus on the following needs:

1.    There have been threats of terrorism in the country and we need the covering of the Lord’s protection.

2.    Journeying mercies for all of our guest speakers and evangelistic team members, as well as our national pastors coming from around the country.

3.    Our General Board meetings on Monday and Tuesday, April 13 and 14.

4.    A spirit of unity in our meetings.

5.    An outpouring of the Holy Ghost. We are asking the Lord for at least 1000 to be filled with the Holy Ghost.

6.    Strengthening of our pastors and saints through the anointed ministry of the Word.

7.    A special unction on our Bible School graduates as they enter the harvest field.

Thank you for your support and prayers in this matter. Your prayers WILL have an impact on the kingdom of God this week!

Scotland

February 3, 2009

Many of you are probably well aware of this information, but in case someone doesn’t know, Scotland is in serious need of prayer. Over the past few years the church has been making good progress but now the government has apparently changed some policies and the missionaries are having a hard time getting visas. Here is some information that was passed on to me recently:

We need to pray for our missionaries to Scotland.
During the past year, they have seen many breakthroughs in enemy strongholds throughout the United Kingdom. Satan is upset and is really trying to hinder the work of the Lord and discourage the missionary there at this time. Bro and Sis Bonner Long from NB Canada who have served several AIM assignments to Scotland, and have a burden for the UK,  have had their Visas rejected and have since gone as field replacements to Antigua. A couple from Indiana, recently went to Scotland to serve in the Bible school but the government of Scotland sent them back home.  Sis Edith Brewer was to go over to cook in the Bible school in March, having served there twice before but she has been afflicted with rheumatoid arthritis and will not be able to go back without a miracle. A senior lady, Sis. McArthur who is Scottish by birth, has returned presently to cook in the school. They cannot bar her from entering as she is Scottish. Now Bro and Sis Beek, missionaries from our district who have their budget fully raised and are anxious to go, have just had their Visa’s turned down!!  They presently are appealing to the government but will have to wait for 6 weeks for an answer.  We need to urgently pray for this door to open.  The government of Scotland has adopted a new governing system similar to that of Australia.  But our God can open doors that no man can shut. Now, Bro and Sis Kelly, resident missionaries, have had to move in to the school to fill the various empty shoes. This appears to be a set back and I am sure they are feeling confused and perhaps a little desperate for some help. Could we pray especially for Bro and Sis Kelly that they would be strengthened and encouraged at this time. Many of us in the Atlantic District have links to the United Kingdom in our ancestral linage.  As British subjects, let us link hands and hearts with those across the Atlantic Ocean who desperately need our prayer support at this time. Could we as a powerful army of prayer warriors, speak to this mountain in Jesus name!? Pharaoh refused to let Moses and the Israelites go BUT GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Convention Season

October 5, 2008

Well, October means that things here will start to get busy. In the first four days of this month I preached three meetings. Already we have seen God do some amazing miracles! Please pray for us this month. We need a covering in three main areas: 1) Preaching – I need to be anointed if I am to see the results I desire this month. 2) Protection – convention season will take me to many areas of the country and I need protection as I travel. 3) Patience – most of the pastors are not used to having international guests and they do not understand how to properly honor a foreigner. I love the people here but convention season is the one time that my patience is pushed. In my meeting on Friday the pastor said he understood the value of my time and the meeting would start at one and everything would be completed by 4. When we arrived at 1:15 they were still setting up the tent for the meeting! The first note of a song was played at 3:30. Needless to say it wasn’t over by 4! So for over 2 hours we just sit and wait. I try to be prepared to preach and it drives me mad when I am prepared and ready to preach and then have to sit in a dark room (mostly alone) for 2 hours! Anyway, pray for my patience, I know the Lord (and his people) will really be testing me this month. I will be posting the results of this month’s meetings in my monthly newsletter. If you do not receive the newsletter but would like to, just send me your e-mail address and we will be sure you get a copy.

We Are Okay

September 22, 2008

I’m sure everyone has heard the news of the massive tragedy that hit here on Saturday. I just want to let you all know that we are okay, it seems none of our churches or their people were effected though a friend of ours had visited the area earlier in the day and is obviously shaken by the experience. Please continue to pray for us and do so knowing that your prayers can help us all stay safe at times just like this.

Back To School

August 18, 2008

Say a special prayer for us today: this is the first day of school. There is always lots of work to do on the first day and we need God’s favor as we embark on a new year. It takes, wisdom, knowledge, and anointing to really do a great job in the classroom. Also, pray for our students, we are new to most of them and this is the first day of a new adventure for many of them. Some of the students are also traveling a great distance and could use the prayer covering to arrive safely.

Help!

May 16, 2008

All night that old chorus was going through my head, “It’s me, it’s me, it’s me oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer”. I guess the old words just fit my need. I have been asked to speak at tomorrow’s afternoon session at Youth Convention. That is a really big opportunity! With that come some really big butterflies! So, if anyone out there is reading this before Saturday at noon, please pray for me! I need God to take over in that service. It is the only way that something good will come from this situation. Thanks for your support!
